DVD Station: A Better Way to Rent

Q: I already belong to a DVD club. Why should I try DVD Station?
A: Once you've rented from us, we believe you'll be hooked. DVD Station is fun to use, easy, fast and convenient. What's more, our system is packed with one-of-a-kind special features. Where else can you watch movie trailers, read critics' reviews, discover awards a movie has won, and more? We offer the best DVD rental rates as well as a wide title selection, let you rent up to seven DVDs at one time, and are conveniently located. And, if you like to see new releases as soon as they come out rather than wait for them to become available through your mail-order DVD club, we offer immediate gratification.

About Our Stores

Q: What are the Store Operating Hours?
A: DVD Station is typically open the same hours as the store location you are visiting. Check the signage adjacent to our Station for any exceptions.

Q: How many DVDs can you possibly carry in such a small space?
A: Believe it or not, our little store can carry thousands of DVDs - as much or more than your average video store.

Finding A Particular Movie or TV Show
Q: How would I find my movie when it's both an action and a comedy?
A: DVD Station isn't limited to shelving a movie in just one place, so if you're looking for a movie that's a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you can find it in any of the applicable genres.

Renting & Returning DVDs

Q: What if I want a DVD title that DVD Station does not have?
A: Just email us at customercare@dvdstation.com with the titles that you want, and the store location that you are using. We will do what we can to add the most popular requests to your store's inventory.

Q: Where do I return the DVD?
A: DVDs can be returned to any convenient DVD Station location.

Q: What happens if I don't return my DVD right away?
A: You will only be charged our low daily rate. If you choose to keep the DVD you'll be charged the MSRP for the disc, plus a restocking charge for us to replace the item. You can still decide to return it to us in its original DVD Station packaging... and we'll give you back 10% of the MSRP back in rental credits. This is DVD Station's "Freedom of Choice" program -- keep the DVD or return it for a bonus!

Q: Can I apply my rental charges toward the purchase of the DVD I rented?
A: With DVD Station's "Freedom of Choice" Program, you can apply your rental charges automatically to the purchase of the rented DVD. Once your rental charge exceeds the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), DVD Station automatically lets you keep the DVD and posts the completed charge to your credit card account.

Q: How many DVDs can I rent at a time?
A: You can rent as many as seven DVDs at a time and return them whenever you like.

Q: Are there any hidden charges?
A: No. We believe you should enjoy every aspect of your home entertainment experience without worrying about return deadlines and excessive DVD rental charges.

Q: What if I see a title that I don't want to rent now, but would like to rent sometime in the future?
A: If there is a DVD that you'd like to see at a later date, but not rent immediately, you can bookmark it by adding it to your "Wish List". The movie will not be reserved for you, but the system will remind you about the film each time that you log in by showing the DVD on your virtual shelf. Once you rent that DVD title, it will disappear from your shelf.

Q: What if I want someone else to be able to use my account?
A: That's easy. We can create one or more membership cards linked to the credit card that you used to set up your DVD Station membership. For security reasons, any appointed user will need to know the security PIN that you chose in order to use your card. So, even if you lose a membership card, your account is secured by your PIN number.

Q: I've seen practically seen every film ever made. Can you help me find something I haven't seen?
A: Your situation is not hopeless. Every Tuesday, we get new releases. We can also recommend older titles based upon your interests. If, for instance, you know that you like Ocean's Eleven, we can recommend other titles that are uniquely linked by actor, director, theme, or style.

Q: I get overwhelmed with the sight of all the boxes in a video store. Even though I know what kind of films I want, I can't narrow my choices down. How will your Station help me?
A: Shopping for entertainment shouldn't be a hardship. From recommending films by a particular director to showing you all the movies featuring your favorite actor, DVD Station makes it easier for you to choose something you'd like to see. And you can always browse by traditional categories like comedies, dramas, action, and family flicks. Finally, the Station will also recommend titles based upon your previous selections.

Q: How can I find all the movies that my favorite director has made, or that a particular actor is in?
A: You can use our search feature to search by actor, director or film. Select Search and then either scroll through a list of titles or type in the name of a movie, director, or actor. The Station will display the actor's filmography page, which contains a personal bio as well as a list of all the stocked films in which they appear.

Billing Information

Q: Where and when do I pay for the DVD rental?
A: The credit card that you used to rent the DVD will be charged only after you return the DVD to the store. You will be charged no more than the cost of the DVD rental plus any applicable taxes for each DVD.

Q: How do I let another family member or friend rent DVDs against my account?
A: Simply request a DVD Station membership card the next time you rent a DVD and the store associate will give you a card that you can give to trusted friends and family to rent against your account.

Q: If I have a question about charges to my credit card, who should I contact?
A: Email our Customer Service Department at customercare@dvdstation.com.

Q: When does my credit card get charged?
A: When you rent from DVD Station, our secure credit card billing process opens a rental tab under your account. The tab is closed when you return the DVD or exceed the retail price (MSRP) in rental charges.

Q: If I'm not charged until I return the DVD, why does it look like my credit card has been charged?
A: When you sign up with DVD Station - and each time you rent from us - we check to make sure that a selected amount between $2 and $3 is available. This is done to make sure that the card has not been blocked; we receive no funds from this transaction. However, some banks or credit card companies choose to reserve the funds, making them temporarily unavailable. The authorization "expires" in 1-5 business days, depending on your bank or credit card company's policy. If you have further questions about this, please contact your bank or credit card company.
